The Matt Ryan era in Atlanta came to an abrupt end on Monday when the Falcons dealt the former franchise quarterback for a third-round pick.

No matter how the era ended it wasn’t going to be easy to part ways with Ryan. Now with Marcus Mariota the temporary answer Atlanta has put Ryan in a better position to win now.

All that is left on Ryan’s resume is to win a Super Bowl, something Atlanta is yet to do as a franchise.

Even if Matt Ryan never wins a Super Bowl he has accomplished enough to belong in the Hall of Fame

however, let’s lay out the top three reasons Ryan deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

No-1. Ryan’s statistical greatness

No-2. Matt Ryan turned around a franchise that simply put couldn’t do anything right

Matt Ryan is currently 8th on the all-time passing yardage chart trailing only Phillip Rivers, Dan Marino, Ben Roethlisberger, Brett Farve, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Tom Brady.

If he remains healthy over the next three seasons when all is said and done Ryan will end his career in the top five.
